Thank you for visiting the EASTERN VISAYAS STATE UNIVERSITY (“EVSU” or “University”) Website and or Online Services.

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the EVSU website and its online services operated by Eastern Visayas State University ("EVSU" or "University") at Abp. Lino Gonzaga Ave, Tacloban City Philippines 6500.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms of Use:

Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
Service refers to the Website and Online Services.
Terms of Use (also referred as "Terms") mean these Terms of Use that form the entire agreement between You and the University regarding the use of the Service. This Terms and Conditions agreement
Third-party Social Media Service means any services or content (including data, information, products or services) provided by a third-party that may be displayed, included or made available by the Service.
University (referred to as either "EVSU", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Eastern Visayas State University, located at Abp. Lino Gonzaga Avenue, Tacloban City, Philippines
Website refers to EVSU Official Website, accessible from https://www.evsu.edu.ph
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Acknowledgement

These are the Terms and Conditions governing the use of this Service and the agreement that operates between You and the University. These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations of all users regarding the use of the Service.

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using EVSU website and online services, you certify that you have read and reviewed this Agreement and that you agree to comply with its terms. If you do not want to be bound by the terms of this Agreement, You may not access the Service. EVSU only grants use and access to this website, its products, and its services to those who have accepted its terms.

The University reserves the right to update the Terms at any time without notice and this can be viewed by clicking on the "Terms of Use" hypertext link located at the bottom of our Web pages and log-in page of our online applications or services.

Additional terms or requirements may be required by the different online services of EVSU, and those additional terms become part of your agreement with the University if you use those online services.

Limitation of Use

The University grants you access to visit, browse, and interact with the Services provided you abide by this Terms and you use validly licensed copies of the software for which the Services were designed. However, You may not copy, modify, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, publish, license, develop derivative/creative works from, transfer, or sell any information, forms, or documentation obtained from the Services.

EVSU and its associated symbols, consisting of the logo and the typeface, should follow the standard. It must not be altered in any way, such as in layout, shape, font, font style, position, or color. (See EVSU Logo Specification for more information). When written permission to reproduce materials is granted, EVSU should be acknowledged as the source of the materials.

Prohibited Use of the Services

EVSU emphasizes that you are not allowed to use the Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms, conditions, and notices that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any EVSU server, or the network(s) connected to any EVSU server, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of any Services. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any Services, other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to any EVSU server or to any of the Services, through hacking, password mining or any other means. You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available through the Services.

Also, infiltrating, reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Services or any of its components and downloading all the files from the Services using any special software or hardware is strictly prohibited.

Use of Services

The Services offered by EVSU may contain but not limited to e-mail features, forum and bulletin board, messaging, virtual communities, portals, calendars, media galleries, social media channels, document and communication management systems, and/or other message or communication facilities designed to enable you to communicate with others (each referred to as "Communication Service" and collectively as "Communication Services"). You agree to use the Communication Services only to post, send and receive messages and material that are proper and, when applicable, related to the particular Communication Service.

EVSU adheres to the basic principles of human decency, respect, and values. We do not allow for messages and comments that curse, trash, degrade, humiliate and intimidate. Freedom of speech does not mean a license to smear reputation and ruin credibility. Nor does it mean the freedom to be irresponsible and to defame. Freedom of speech, rather, is the recognition of the right of anyone to speak his or her mind and to express a contrary view without being objectionable.

EVSU, its partners and third-party providers have no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, it reserves the right to review materials posted to the Communication Services and to remove any materials and comments that violate standards of civility in its sole discretion and the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time, without notice, for any reason whatsoever.

Furthermore, EVSU reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as the University deems necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in EVSU's sole discretion, without notice, for any reason whatsoever.

Be careful when posting or giving out any personal information about yourself, or your family in any Communication Services. EVSU, its developers, and third-party providers do not control or endorse the content, messages, or information found in any Communication Services and, therefore, it specifically disclaims any liability with regards to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Services. Site managers and hosts have not authorized EVSU spokespersons, and their views do not necessarily reflect those of the University.

You are responsible for adhering to limitations on usage, reproduction, and/or dissemination if you download or upload materials to the Communication Services.

Intellectual property

You agree that all information, articles (news, announcements, events, notices, invitations), research papers, press releases, statistical data, directory of offices and its officials, reports, manuals, forms, and other materials, products, and services provided on the EVSU website and Online Services are the property of EVSU, or the copyrighted work of its respective provider and/or its suppliers. You also agree that you will not reproduce, modify, or redistribute the EVSU’s intellectual property in any way, including electronic, digital, or new trademark registrations without prior written permission from the Office of the University President. When permission to use is granted, EVSU should be acknowledged as the source of the materials and the copyright notice must appear in all copies

The University and its employees and developers or third-party providers do not accept or consider unsolicited ideas and does not claim ownership of the materials (original creative artwork, samples, demos, or other works) you provide to the University (including feedback and suggestions) or post, upload, input or submit to any Services or its associated services for review by the general public, or by the members of any public or private community.

The sole purpose of this policy is to avoid potential misunderstandings or disputes when EVSU's services or strategies might seem similar to ideas submitted to EVSU. If, despite our request that you not send us your ideas and materials, you still send them, please understand that EVSU makes no assurances that your ideas and materials will be treated as confidential or proprietary.

And by posting, uploading, inputting, providing or submitting ("Posting") your Submission you are granting EVSU a royalty-free and non-exclusive license to display, use, copy, transmit, and broadcast the content you upload and publish. For issues regarding intellectual property claims, you may contact the University in order to come to an agreement.

The Documents and related graphics published on the website could include technical inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically added to the Information herein. The University, its developers and/or its respective partners may make improvements and/or changes in the Information and Services at any time, even without notice to you.

User accounts

As a user of EVSU’s website or Online Services, you may be asked to register with us and provide current, complete, and accurate private information as prompted by the applicable online registration form. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of this information. Most Online Services will require you a username and a password. Your username will uniquely identify you from other users and you are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of your identifying information. You are also responsible for all activities that occur under your account or password.

You agree to notify the EVSU Information and Communications Technology Office (“ICTO” or “ICT Office”) immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. EVSU, ICTO, its developers and third-party providers will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred by EVSU or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You may not use anyone else's account at any time. Sharing of user account and password is strictly prohibited.

Furthermore, we reserve all rights to terminate accounts, edit or remove content.

Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to other web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by the University.

The University has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that the University shall not be responsible or liable, directly, or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such web sites or services. EVSU is not responsible for webcasting, or any other form of transmission received from any linked site. EVSU is providing these links to you only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by the University of that site.

We strongly advise You to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that You visit.
